Many saw the end of an era when Montreal’s famous Club Dome was closed and the building was closed. Owners and the club’s promotion club continue the Dome’s tradition at another venue in a nearby location. This years New Year’s party will be at Saints Showbar and will uphold the solid reputation that Dome has built over the years. Tickets are limited and will be on presale on www.montrealnewyear2009.com. Prices are subject to increase.
The end of an Era, Club Dome Montreal had been in operation since 1992 and quickly became one of Montreal’s top destinations on St-Catherine and St-Laurent. The nightclub’s location is as close as it gets to a red light district in North America. Soon after its opening the Dome was subject to long line ups due to its instant popularity with locals and tour groups. Over the years Club Dome became extremely popular with the new year’s clientele. The infamous nightclub saw partiers return year after year.
When Club Dome announced its sales, it meant many would miss their New Year’s Eve Event. However, the owners of the Dome reopened a new venue that packs the same punch in the same complex where the Dome once stood. The end of the Dome became the beginning of The Saints Showbar. The new venue carries the same staff and holds the same vision that made the reputation of the Dome.
Saints Showbar is in many ways an improvement to what the Dome was. Towards its last few years of operation the Dome focused on bringing live act into the club scene. Headliners such as Rhianna, Tiesto and others performed on a central stage. Saints Showbar is well equipped with a large stage and a mezzanine to host shows and world class DJ’s. Saints offers a much better venue to accommodate such events. Other improvements included the lighting and laser show equipment and the sound system.
To continue serving up a great new year’s party that will please Club Dome’s loyal clientele, organizers have brought in one of Canada’s top DJ’s to highlight the night. DJ Technical will animate the night with the sounds of Scratch music, Hip-hop, R&B and Funk. In his own words he will blow the crowd away with his weapon of choice: the turn table. The venue has also decided to offer its New Year’s customers a CD of the world class DJ.
The New Year’s Event will be an open bar also keeping up with the Dome’s tradition. With 4 ½ bars and 11 bartenders, Saints Show bar is likely to draw a massive crowd. The New Year’s party will also feature a balloon drop at midnight, the live Time Square countdown and an MC animating the crowd.
Presale New Year’s tickets will be available online via www.montrealnewyear2009.com. Providing this service will allow customers to reserve the event online avoiding the last minute price hikes and being left out in the cold. Due to Club Dome’s popularity tickets will be limited and sold fast.
